Rd. 3 of the SWBA series returns to Long Beach, California.
With the overwhelming success of the ‘Spring Classic’ held in the month of May, its no surprise to see its return on in this year’s schedule.
With unlimited coastal boundaries, and Santa Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands ‘In-play’ for this 10-hour event, there will be lots of fishing spots to choose from.
Last year saw Justin Reynolds and Randy Spizer take the win with an incredible 5 fish limit of calico bass that weighed over 31 lbs., and several other teams over the 20-pound mark.
This year UNITED COMPOSITES along with Pep Jigs and Killer Jigs have come aboard as the Title Sponsor of this great event. People who are familiar with Graphite USA will be pleased to hear the company is in is full swing under the United Composites brand, with 2 of the industry’s solid names, led by Randy Penny and Darin Dohi. They will be awarding a pair of custom, 1 of a kind commemorative rod, to the team who takes the victory on the 21’st. There will also be some great prize packages awarded to really set this event off, including the KAENON ‘Big Bass’ award, AFTCO gift certificates, 2 of the newest ABU GARCIA Toro series reels, and of course a pair of beautiful Bohnhoff Lumber custom trophies to the champions.
The event will be held out of South Shores launch ramp in Long Beach near the Queen Mary, with a ‘Safe Light’ start anticipated for 5:45. There will be 10 hours of fishing, with sand bass, calico bass, and spotted bay bass, all eligible to be weighed. The first flight will be due back at check-in by 4:00 pm with second and third flights due at 4:15 and 4:30 respectively.
You can follow the event on-line as we update throughout the event with pictures, and live interactive video feeds on Facebook. If you happen to be in the area, please come down and catch a portion of the weigh-in, if this event is anything like last year, it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser. Hope to see you on Saturday!
All tournaments within the series are ‘Open Tournaments’ that may also be fished individually or fish all 5 events earn points to qualify for the Elite Championship and Anglers of The Year Award.
REGISTRATION – Please follow these steps in order to register your team for the 2016 SWBA Tournament Series.
- Print two copies (1 per angler) of the Waiver and Release Form from the Downloads page.
- Each angler must complete and sign a copy of the form.
- Scan and e-mail us your signed forms or mail the completed forms to the address below by Wednesday before the event. (only once per year)
- Pay your Entry & Membership fees online through our PayPal button or Mail in your check or money order. Payment needs to be received by the Wednesday before the event.
