Rd. 1 of the SWBA series returns to San Diego, California.
This Chula Vista based event is Sponsored by Bass Underground and Taco Surf, and is one of the most popular venues in the SWBA Series. For the first several years, SWBA hosted the season opener out of Newport Bay and fondly named it the, ‘Cabin Fever Reliever’. In fact, during that time there was a 6 Lb. test rule in affect for all teams. Back in those days we actually used dial calipers at registration to check everyone’s lines for a maximum diameter allowance. As the field of teams grew, this became impractical and the restriction was lifted, but those were some really fun tournaments filled with great memories. The Chula Vista tournament is a great opportunity to cure the winter blues with some great Spotted Bay Bass action. With so much water to choose from in San Diego Bay, and areas where teams can ‘open-up’ their rigs to get to the next spot, it’s no wonder this event has become a crowd favorite! Not only do the L.A. and O.C. anglers look forward to the trip south, there is usually a great turnout of competitive local anglers who come out in full force. If you’ve never fished a tournament, or have a smaller skiff with a passion for spotties, this is a great ‘Jump- On’ opportunity.
All tournaments within the series are ‘Open Tournaments’ that may also be fished individually or fish all 5 events earn points to qualify for the Elite Championship and Anglers of The Year Award.
REGISTRATION – Please follow these steps in order to register your team for the 2016 SWBA Tournament Series.
- Print two copies (1 per angler) of the Waiver and Release Form from the Downloads page.
- Each angler must complete and sign a copy of the form.
- Scan and e-mail us your signed forms or mail the completed forms to the address below by Wednesday before the event. (only once per year)
- Pay your Entry & Membership fees online through our PayPal button or Mail in your check or money order. Payment needs to be received by the Wednesday before the event.
